Restaurant Review: Casino Cosmopol Part 1

Hej Foodlovers!

Vi tog en liten paus på bloggen under januari men vi har varit aktiva på Google+ (Följ oss där för uppdateringar). Men vi är tillbaka nu och planen är att lägga upp nya inlägg på söndagar. 

Nu till dagens inlägg, vi besökte Casino Cosmopols brunch som serveras varje söndag från 12:00 - 15:00. Man måste boka bord i förväg för att garanterat få en plats, drop-in funkar också men det försäkrar inte att man får en plats. Man måste även vara minst 20 år för att komma in på Casinot. 

I detta inlägg kommer vi att täcka varmrätterna och i nästa inlägg desserten. Vi hade höga förväntningar inför besöket eftersom vi tidigare fått information om att det erbjöds en riktigt stor "brunch á la Vegas". Men ska vi vara helt ärliga så blev det en besvikelse. Utbudet var inte riktigt amerikanskt, vi förväntade oss åtminstone att hitta miniburgare, äggröra, korv, pizza, chicken wings, mac & cheese mm. Men det som erbjöds kändes mer som en blandning av svenska/italienska/mexikanska rätter. Rätterna var uppdelade på två bord, ett bord med kalla rätter och ett med varma rätter. 

Den största besvikelsen var kycklingklubborna, de var inte alls marinerade och var smaklösa. Deras coleslaw innehöll för mycket majonnäs, den smakade bara majonnäs. Allt annat var helt okej, inget speciellt. 

Personalen var väldigt trevliga och plockade regelbundet upp tallrikarna. Brunch delen var inte så stor och borden var gungiga, väldigt irriterande.

Detta var något helt nytt för oss, en helt okej första brunch upplevelse!

Hi Foodlovers!

We took a little break on the blog during January but we´re back now. We´ve been pretty active on Google+, so make sure to follow us there. The plan now is to upload new posts on Sundays. 

Now to today´s post, we visited Casino Cosmopol´s brunch which is served every Sunday from noon to 3 pm. To be sure to get seats you will need to book a table through their website or by phone. You can drop in but only if there are seats available. To enter the casino you need to be at least 20 years old. 

In this post we will cover the cold and warm dishes and the next post will be about the dessert. We had high hopes before the visit because earlier we had been informed that the brunch was a big one, "á la Vegas". But to be totally honest it was a disappointment. The food wasn´t American, we expected to at least find some mini burgers, scrambled eggs, sausage, pizza, chicken wings, mac & cheese etc. But the food had a more Swedish/Italian/Mexican style. The dishes were divided on two tables, one for the warm dishes and the other for the cold dishes. 

The biggest disapointment were the drumsticks, they weren´t well marinated and were tasteless. The coleslaw was also a big no, it had too much mayonnaise and tasted mostly mayo.    

The staff was good and picked up the plates regularly. The place where the tables were situated was small and the tables weren´t stable.

This was a new experience for us, an all right brunch experience!

Restaurant Review: Steak N Cheese & Co

Hi Foodlovers! Today we bring you our first restaurant review for this year! We went for some Philly Cheesesteaks at Gothenburg. First up was the service. The service wasn´t the best, we stood first in line but still had to wait for over 10 mins to place our order. It felt like they were understaffed even though they were not. Once we placed our order, they had a station outside where you could watch your food get made, that was a nice touch. Our order: Philadelphia Steak N´Cheese (Grilled chuck steak, cheddar cheese, white cheese, fried onions, bell pepper, fresh mushrooms and sauce), Spicy fries and Sweet potato fries. Now then let´s break down the food. Both fries were good, we got a good dressing but had no idea what kind it was since we didn´t get to choose. The cheesesteak could have been tastier. It lacked spices. The meat wasn´t even seasoned which was a letdown in our opinion. The sauce in the cheesesteak didn´t improve the taste but the cheese was good. Name : Steak

Restaurant Review: Lydia's Diner

Hej    Foodlovers! Idag summerar vi vår upplevelse på Lydia's Diner . Det är en restaurang som erbjuder mat med inspiration från USA. De har ett bra utbud på deras buffé. Deras buffé bestod av en salladsbar, fyra olika pizzor, vitlöksbröd, tacos, nachos, kycklinggrytor, kycklingvingar, potatis mm. Pizzorna var väldigt goda och de bestod av kyckling-, kebab-, köttfärs- och baconpizza. Pizzorna var tjocka "Chicago Deep" style och smakade väldigt gott. Salladsbaren hade ett bra utbud av grönsaker och dressingar, det fanns även vanligt vitt bröd och tortillabröd. Vitlöksbrödet var väldig oljig och var en av besvikelsen med buffén. Det som fattades i buffén var desserten, det hade varit trevligt med åtminstone någon dessert till maten. Personalen var trevliga och hjälpsamma. Det fanns bra med platser och man kunde äta i lugn och ro, en väldigt skön stämning. På det stora hela var maten bra, speciellt pizzorna! Namn: Lydia's Diner Pris: 89 kr Betygsä

Restaurant Review: Mr. Döner

Hi Foodlovers! Today we got a really good restaurant up for review. We went out for some pizza and found this place called Mr. Döner. The location was calm and the service was great. It wasn´t too busy when we went there. You have the option to either sit outside or upstairs in the restaurant. We ordered a kebab pizza and this might be the best one in a long while. We´ve been on the hunt for an authentic kebab pizza here in Gothenburg but it seems hard to find. They usually serve kebab as pork meat here instead of beef but this restaurant had the real thing, beef kebab. The pizza overall was excellent every bite was wonderful and this was such a delicious pizza, WOW! They didn´t skimp on the meat like most restaurant does and the sauce was top notch. The pizza was cooked to perfection and we will for sure return here.
